The Nimbus Project — Alpha 1.1 Released November 2, 2026 · Linux, Windows and Android Nimbus is a free, closed-source, custom-built project (we plan to open source it later). No donations. The three games' runtime components are bundled in each download. Original disc images are not included: you need your own NTSC-U discs. Third-party license notices ship inside every download. WHAT'S NEW Android touch controls - Cleaner, translucent GameCube-style buttons with clearer labels and visible feedback when pressed. - Shoulder buttons sit below the performance overlay, START is a wider pill, and the D-pad has arrows. - Buttons respond to their drawn shapes (with a little thumb margin), plus a touch-opacity slider (30-90%) and a small stick dead zone. - The four-star Dragon Ball menu button has an amber finish, and dragging it no longer opens the menu by accident. - Touch controls hide automatically when a gamepad is connected (the menu ball stays). You can still show or hide them manually. Sagas outlines - Fixed black character outlines disappearing during projectile and explosion effects, including in co-op. Components: versions and rollback - New Components > Versions / rollback screen on Linux, Windows and Android. - See whether each part is the bundled one or a replacement, its signed version label where available, and its exact fingerprint. - Your previous selection is kept: Rollback restores it, and Restore bundled goes back to the stock parts. Both take effect the next time you launch a game and don't touch saves or linked files. - A damaged previous file is rejected without changing what's active. - Rollback restores your previous selection; it is not an automatic recovery system. Under the hood - Shared renderer v5zz-shared, host shared-20261101 (component API 1, netplay protocol 1). - The game cores and host are the same approved binaries as Alpha 1.0. - Module version labels (for example c19r2-bolt or v5zz-shared) are separate from the main distro version (1.1). REQUIREMENTS - Linux: Ubuntu 26.04, x86-64. - Windows: Windows 11 x64, AVX2-class CPU, Vulkan-capable GPU, Microsoft Visual C++ x64 Redistributable. This release is Vulkan only. - Android: Android 13+, arm64. Installs as an update over Alpha 1.0; your app data is kept. MODULE DOWNLOADS (new) The host, renderer and the three game cores are now also available as separate signed downloads for each platform (see modules/catalog.json). The main distro still bundles and automatically selects its cores; you don't need the modules to play. - Android: select the .nimbus-component file directly in Components. - Linux / Windows: extract the ZIP, keep the binary next to its .ticket file, then select it in Components. - Changes apply the next time you launch a game. There is no automatic downloading or updating, and no swapping mid-game. Launcher updates come through the main distro. - Standalone Linux core modules require an x86-64-v3 CPU. Baseline-CPU variants stay bundled in the distro. - Each platform has its own files and checksums; don't mix them. Crossplay coverage is unchanged from Alpha 1.0's published test matrix; this release doesn't claim new platform/game pairings. Contact: TheNimbusProject@yahoo.com
